Topping Rose House

BRIDGEHAMPTON, NEW YORK

Working with the owners, Bill Campbell and Simon Critchell, and the celebrated chef, Tom Colicchio, Champalimaud Design transformed a historic 1842 Greek revival mansion into a luxurious, full-service inn.  This meticulous restoration retained elements of the property's original character, while infusing a layered, eclectic style for a distinctly modern, residential inn.

Infusing a layered, eclectic style.

The Topping Rose House features an acclaimed farm-to-table restaurant and individually designed guest rooms and suites.  Amenities include a wellness center and beautifully landscaped outdoor spaces. Seven luxury suites are housed within the historic Topping Rose mansion, while a contemporary building by Roger Ferris & Partners adds twelve new guest cottages and three sleek studios. In the cottage suites, Champalimaud designed beds hewn from reclaimed wood, fitted with upholstered headboards. Colors and patterns create bold accents, with lime green and icy blue Madeline Weinrib rugs complementing graphic, printed pillows by John Robshaw.

Fine craftsmanship is emphasized throughout.

An inviting indoor-outdoor setting.

A tranquil pool deck and covered porch create an inviting indoor-outdoor setting, and a refurbished 19th-century barn has been repurposed as a studio for private events. For its thoughtful design, Topping Rose House was recognized with Best Boutique Hotel and Best Hotel Suite awards at the Hospitality Design Awards.
