Badrutt’s Palace

ST. MORITZ, SWITZERLAND

Taking cues from the noble spirit of the property, Champalimaud Design honored the rich cultural heritage of Badrutt’s Palace Hotel in the redesign of the hotel’s guestrooms. With today’s contemporary traveler in mind, the studio focused on creating inviting, layered, and well-appointed spaces that celebrate a life well lived.

An air of restrained elegance.

Honoring craftsmanship and bespoke detailing, the guestrooms were designed with an air of restrained elegance–creating an escape within an escape–and a sense of place that reflects the natural beauty of the Engadin Valley. Using exceptionally sourced materials, Champalimaud Design makes gentle nods to the hotel’s luxurious alpine surroundings with a palette of opulent creamy whites and shades of blue coupled with decadent embroidered fabrics and antiqued metallic accents. On the room’s drapes and embroidered headboards are whimsical touches referencing the local Engadin pattern vernacular.
