Fairmont San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA

Created in the heyday of the Roaring Twenties, the Presidential Suite at San Francisco's legendary Fairmont Hotel is a historic mansion in the sky. The 6,000-square-foot suite, spanning the hotel's entire penthouse floor with sweeping views of San Francisco, has been home to royalty, rock stars, and other distinguished visitors for generations.

This rich history and the exotic tastes of its initial owner, a scholar of Persian art, were an inspiration for Champalimaud's design. While respecting the character of this extraordinary space, Champalimaud integrated luxurious design, décor, architecture, and cutting-edge technology in an artful marriage of East and West. Dramatic design elements such as a hand-painted, silver-and-black Chinoiserie wall coverings, rich colors, and plush carpets complement an impressive art collection, including original works by David Hockney, and a grouping of exquisite Chinese porcelain vases.

For its timeless elegance and character, the Fairmont Penthouse Suite earned Champalimaud a Gold Key and numerous other international design awards.
