Pastorecci

CASOLE D’ELSA, ITALY

Pastorecci is an old farmhouse hidden down a dirt road with history richly visible in every floorboard and stone wall. The character of the original materials was vibrant with stone stair treads worn into visible patterns, quirky wooden doors and stone passageways connecting rooms. During the renovation by Champalimaud Design, an original Etruscan pillar was found in the basement and placed in the garden as a constant reminder of the centuries passed on the stunning little knoll.

As soulful and warm as the gardens.

Our renovation began on grounds in full bloom, with fragrant honeysuckle and lavender, olive trees bursting with fruit, and tomatoes overflowing their beds. The landscaping was so lush and the light so incredibly romantic it inspired the design direction for the interiors.  We wanted to create rooms that felt as soulful and warm as the gardens.

History is richly visible in every floorboard and stone wall.
