Taikun
Grand Cayman
Taikun was designed to meet the buzzing atmosphere of 1980s Tokyo with Grand Cayman’s timeless natural beauty. The restaurant unfolds as a vibrant juxtaposition of color, defined by its signature blush pink and layered with accents of lavender, deep grape purple, terracotta red, and apple green. Anchored by curved banquettes at the center, the dining room offers a range of experiences suiting both intimate gatherings and larger groups. Playful Missoni-esque zigzags and bold stripes set the tone, softened by bullion-fringed drapery and bespoke handmade ceramic table lamps.

Overhead, coconut tree chandeliers woven from rattan float above the space, while a richly textured sisal wallcovering nods to the rope-weaving narrative referenced throughout the property. The reflections of strategically placed mirrors make the room appear larger and more immersive. The warm glow of an alabaster pendant above the bar complements the restaurant’s moody, magical atmosphere, perfectly complementing commissioned works by a local artist that capture the restaurant’s spirit animal, a keen and clever cat.
